The Nelluvai Temple has been consecrated to His Manifestation as the Lord of Medicine.Sick people come here and do Meditation. The Deity is widely believed to cure illnessess and the Prasadam given here is made up of turmeric, curd etc, called Mukkidi Nivedyam.
Swargavathil Ekadasi is celebrated here, the 11th Lunation in the sidereal month of Sagittarius or Dhanus. Other famous events are Dhanwantari Sangeetolsavam and Panchavadya or Percussion Symphony.

The Triprayar Lord Rama Temple
Bridal Mysticism is akin to Intellectual Mysticism. The Self is the Consort and He can be imagined in any form, as all forms are He ! Here in this magnificent temple, His Form is that of Lord Rama. Ramyathe ithi Ramah – meaning that which attracts and tantalises the Mind is Rama !
We have to understand that Sakhyam ( eternal friendship with Him ) and Atma Nivedanam ( Sacrifice for the Self ) are part of Bridal Mysticism or Bhakti Yoga. He is our Friend, Consort and Guide. Whatever be His Form, whatever be His Name, He is always He !

Here five Pujas are done daily. The image of the Deity is carried around the temple thrice a day.
The major festival here is the Ekadasi Festival in the month of Scorpio or Vrischika. It is akin to the Guruvayur Ekadasi festival. The procession of Lord Rama is flanked by 21 elephants and other paraphernalia.
Mythology has it that the idols of the 4 heroes of the Ramayana, Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrugna were washed ashore and were installed. Nalambala Darshanam or Vision of these 4 temples on a particular day is considered highly auspicious.
Pooram Festival
This is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Pisces or Meena and it concludes when Moon tenants Pooram constellation.
Performing Arts
Angya Koothu is offered as worship here. It is a local theater form. Episodes from the mighty epic, Ramayana, are performed in the 12 performing days, in the Holy Month of Vrischika or Scorpio.
Fish Feeding or Meenoottu
Devotees feed fishes of the nearby river and this function is called Meenoottu. The fishes are beloved to the Lord !

The Thiruvambady Lord Krishna Temple
That which protect us from sorrows are Temples, Kshayath Thrayathe ithi Kshetrah.
Here in this temple, His Form is that of the Preserver, Lord Vishnu’s infant form, as Lord Krishna . Thiruvambady is one of the main temples and along with Paramekkavu gives the lead in the King of all Poorams, Trichur Pooram, which occurs when the Moon tenants Pooram or Delta Leonis !

On the left of the sanctum sanctorum, there is the idol of Mother Divine. Legend has it that this idol was worshipped by Kachanappaaly couples. They were great devotees of the Mother Goddess at Kodungallor. They used to walk 40 kms, to have a glimpse of the Goddess at Kodungalloor. The Mother Divine, in Her compassion, came to this Temple and sat on the left of the Divine Child, to please Her devotees !
As per Indian Philosophy, Purusha and Prakriti are the male and female components of the Ultimate. The Sanskrit poets symbolised them as Krishna and Radha and as Siva and Sakti. They are actually inseparable. How can Purusha exist without Prakriti and vice versa ? So both are worshipped in Hinduism !Know then that Being and Nature both

The Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple, Trichur
In Sanskrit, Bhava means wordliness or the Ocean of mundane tensions and worries which afflict us or Samsar. She who destroys Bhava, that is the Sorrow accruing from Worldly Life and imparts Bliss Immortal is called Bhagavathy, Bhavam Nihatya Yogam Dadathi ithi Bhagah.
She is the Prakriti of Sankhya, the Maya of Vedanta and the Shakti of Tantra. She is the Sacred Feminine of Gnosticism. She tempts even the wise, Jnaninam api chethamsi devee bhagavathee hi Sa !
Thou art Intelligence and Cognition
And the Goal of all sciences divine !
Thou art the Surmounter of difficulties
Hence called Durga by name !
Without Her Grace, Salvation is not possible !
In Bridal Mysticism, Vandanam means to bow before the Tutelary Deity. The Masters of India knew that Yoga and Vedanta are ultra worldly sciences, which are best suited for ultra worldly people. So they brought in Tantra and installed Tutelary Deities in all cities and villages, so that worldly people can have the same mystic experiences like the Initiates. Bhakti Yoga is for the worldly man. She is Bhagavathy, the Damsel Divine adorned with the Six Attributes ! Arpanam means to sacrifice one’s life for Deity. Dasyam is to be Her servant, serving All and Loving All !
She and He are ultimately One. This is well expressed by the Mother of Auroville

In the famous Trichur Pooram, She along with Lord Krishna of Thiruvambady engage in friendly competition. 15 caparisoned elephants of hers face 15 elephants of the Lord and it is one of the most beautiful sights in the world!
Trichur Pooram takes place on the day when the Moon tenants the constellation of Pubba or Pooram.

Spiritual Tourism XVI – Heavens on Earth – Vadakkunnathan Siva Temple, Trichur . Trichur is the Temple Capital of Kerala, based on its Temple Economy. Crores are coming into Trichur and almost all temples are giving free food or Annadanam. Food everyday at Gvr and Vadakumnathan, thrice at Gvr. Almost on alternate days at Mammiyur. Trichur Pooram tomorrow. All are cordially invited. Free buttermilk to be distributed tomorrow.
Lord Shiva is beloved to those who are philosophically inclined. The great Trichur Pooram, considered by UNESCO as one of the most beautiful sights in the world, takes place here.
This temple is known as Then Kailasam or the Abode of Lord Shiva in the South. Trichur is derived from TriSiva Perur, the big town of the Lord !
After retrieving Kerala from the sea, Sage Parasurama did his first consecration here. He requested the Lord to show him the proper place to build a temple and the Lord showed him this spot. This is a huge temple, surrounded by 18 acres of teakwood trees ( Thekkin Kadu ).
The parents of Sankara came to this Temple and prayed for a genius son. The Lord took incarnation as Bhagavan Sankara and wrote the famous Soundarya Lahari, a master treatise on Tantra Sastra, here.
When the great Vaishnavite poet-Seer Poonthanam came here from Guruvayur, the Lord showed Himself as Vishnu and told him all gods are one and the same.
When Sankara came here, he extolled Lord Shiva, but could not walk up to the temple of Parvathy. Then a baby girl came and offered him a cup of milk. Sankara told her that he doesnt have the Sakthi ( strength ) to receive the cup. The baby girl told him thus ” It is so because you have forgotten all about Sakthi ! “. Then Sankara realised his mistake and wrote the master treatise, the Soundarya Lahiri, extolling the Sacred Feminine, Shakti !
There are no big festivals in this temple, except that of Siva Ratri. During the Trichur Pooram, all other deities come here and pay tributes to the Lord.

A – Yes.
Q – Is everything known to Science ?
A – Not exactly.
Q What about this conflict between Science & Religion ? Darwin vs Pope ?
A This conflict arose in the West. It does not pertain to Indian Philosophy, whose view we are expounding.
Q – Why this conflict in the West ?
A – Charles Darwin, Julian Huxley et al attacked the dogmas of Christian Theology. ” All dogmas belong to Theology” said Russell. They did not attack India’s Scientific Philosophy !
Q – Allopathy is Science. Then where do Ayurveda & Yoga stand ?
A – Indian concept of Science is different from the Western. The Intuitive element plays a large part in Indian sciences. They can be called scientia intuitiva, intuitive sciences. Prakriti, undoubtedly, is divine. But Her lord is Purusha !
Q – Can Purusha heal which Prakriti cannot ?
A – Yes. So He is known as the Doctor of Doctors, Sree Vaidyanathaya Nama Sivaya !
Q – Do you know anywhere cures are affected ?
A – Yes, the Lord Siva Vadakkunnathan Temple. Devotees report amazing cures are effectuated.
Q – What about prosperity ?
A – The shops around report a high level of prosperity, Daridra Dukha Dahanaya Nama Sivaya.
Q – What about the Nava Graha Puja here ?
A – It removes planetary afflictions and paves the way for the Actualisation of Potential.
Q – Why do people circumambulate the Temple /
A- It is considered a spiritual exercise. It is similar to the circumambulation around the Tiruvannamalai Hills in TN.
In Intellectual Mysticism, Jnana Yoga, Shivam means auspiciousness and is a characteristic of the Self. We are not the Ego. The EGO is only the false SELF. We are that Eternal Consciousness, the Everlasting Self !

The Nine Planets of Astrology are all deities here. If there is some problem caused by Jupiter, Jupiter Puja is done. And so for all planets. The concept is that the Lord assumed the form of planets to dispense Karma to individuals, Jeevanam Karmaphalada Graha Roopi Janardana !
