Brahmagupta took 5 degrees as the unit and the Zodiac is made up of 72 Jyas (72 & 5=360 ) The Sanskrit Jya became the Greek Geo. ( Mithi means measurement. Trikona, Triangle became Trignon. And so Trikona Mithi became Trignometry and Jya Mithi became Geometry !
