The Sum Total Energy in the Universe, Brahman, is an absolute constant and knoweth no destruction, creation and preservation, Aksharam Brahma.

IN other words, this Universal Sea of Energy, Matter, Consciousness or Being is The Basis of all that lives - Yatho imani bhootani jayante, yena Jathani Jeevanti, Yat prayantapi samvishanti.

If Universal Substance is all,  It means that That Art Thou ( Tat Tvam Asi0, I am That ( Ahsm Brahmasmi ) and everything is That and That Alone. Sarvam Khalu Idam Brahma.

Averrs Aurobindo . " The Sages spoke indeed of IT negatively. They  said Neti, Neti, It is not This, It is not That, because this is finite and That is finite, whereas Reality is Infinite. Reality is defined by a series of negatives, because the negative is less limiting than the positive.

At the same time, they took care to speak of it positively. They said iti, iti, It is This, It is That, It is All. Brahman, the Absolute, they said, is Life, is Matter, is Energy, is Supermind, is Cosmic Delight --- is Sat Chit Ananda.

But Brahman, the Absolute , cannot be defined by any of these terms, not even by our broadest definition of Sat Chit Ananda !

This Upanishadic Brahman is the same as the Groundlessness of Boehme, a poor and uneducated cobbler, who was described as the greatest Light after Him, who Himself was the Light of the World !
