India processes only 2% of her fruits and vegetables and 8% of marine products. This is low compared to the global average.
Fruits and vegetables are raw material for the canning industries.
We should have more agri processing factories as well as marine products processing factories.
Value Addition is the mantra. 750 b exports is OK, but China is ahead with 3.5 tr.
India has a vast coastline of 7500 sq kms, 2.2 million kms of EEZ, 400 rivers ( 44 from Kerala ) and 1382 islands !
