Water Scarcity during Summer





Now there are newspaper reports that many parts of Kerala are facing acute water shortage.

Rain water harvesting is not done properly. The immense amount of rains received from the two monsoons goes out into the sea. There is no proper planning by the authorities.

During these three summer months, the shortage is going to be more acute.

Nature’s reservoirs like paddy fields and forest like areas are being
destroyed by some people who do not believe in the wisdom of Nature.

I have a house in a village and there is no scarcity of water there. This is because of the proximity of the paddy fields, some canals and the large temple pond nearby, which act as Nature’s aqua reservoirs.

Nature’s water reservoirs are being destroyed. Wells are being covered, paddy fields are destroyed, sarpa kavus or serpeant troves are destroyed. No wonder this has happened.

Now till the Sun’s transit of half of Taurus ( on May 29th ), Kerala is in for big trouble. Many are affected by sunstroke as well.

In olden times, all houses were having a sacred grove/ sarpa kavu associated near it. No physical snakes are meant. Sir John Woodroffe’s manum opus was the ‘Serpent Power”.This book is abound the Kundalini, the serpeant power coiled in mortals.

To awaken the Kundalini in us, the sarpa kavus were maintained. There is a saying that the ponds will dry, if we destroy the sarpa kavus. Some antipaganists, who do not revere Nature, destroyed these sacred groves and hence we are facing this problem !

Now the Sun is transiting Alpha Pegasi ( Pororuttathi ) and will be
transiting Alpha Andromed ( Uthrattathi ) from 17th onwards. These are dry spells and the landscape is having a
parched, semi arid look.

By 2015, many West Asian countries will be out of water. India also will be severely affected.

If Kerala’s state is like this, what about the rest of India ?

Sir Erasmus Darwin belonged to the Lunar Society. He was impressed by two Indian theories.

1) Theory of Metempsychosis or Rebirth
2) Theory of the Ten Incarnations

Evolution states that Life began from the sea and that our primordial ancestors were aquatic.

The Ten Incarnations Theory ( Dasa Avataras ) is allegorical and symbolic. Life came from the sea ( Matsya Avatara ) and the unicellular amoeba evolved and evolved, into plants, into apes and then into man. Man then becomes Enlightened ( The Buddha ) and this is the Goal of Life, Self Actualisation ( parama purushartha = moksha ) .

Regarding, Metempsychosis. Aurobindo averred “It is illogical to assume that Plato and the Hottentot and the fortunate child of the Rishies and the saints have to realise in this very birth their eternal future. ” So for the Evolution of Consciousness, which is behind the Evolution of the Species, there have to be many lives.

The East India Company, via Sir Erasmsus Darwin, took these two theories to the Western world. Sir Eramsus Darwin evolved a new theory out of it – The Theory of Evolution.

Later on, his grandson, Charles Darwin, established this theory in the scientific world, as the Law of Evolution, in his Origin of the Species !

Nature Philosophy and Sankhya

Wordsworth was a Nature Poet. Nature never did
betray, said he, the heart that loved her.

Nature in her pellucid purity reminded him of

He and Goerhe were Nature Philosophers. Nature
Philosophy has her counterpart in Sankhya of Kapila.

Nature is the main cause, the efficient cause,
averrs Sankhya. Pradhanam Prakrithim Prahuh.

Nature is the sole doer and Nature is Almighty.
Nature is the outer garment of Spirit.

Aurobindo averred ” Nature is veiled somnabulist
Consciousness which contains within her all the latent powers of the Spirit.
Behind every atom, behnd every molecule there lies hidden and works unknown all
the omniscience of the Eternal and the omnipotence of the Infinite”

Nature is Saguna Brahman and it is He in
manifestation

The story of Trisanku, Alpha Centaurus





We will explain the mythological allegory of Trisanku. Trisanku wanted to reach Heaven with his body, much against the wishes of his Guru Vasishta and family. He was hurled back in space and he appealed to Vishwamitra for help. Vishwamitra with his yogic power created a Trisanku Swarga for him.

Although this is a mythological allegory, astro information is contained in this story. The nearest star to our Solar System is Proxima Centuari, a member of the Alpha Centauri system. The two bright components of Alpha Centauri are only slightly farther away, some 4.3 light years away from us. It is logical that Trisanku or Alpha Centaurus is just half way to the nearest bright star Sirius, which is 8.7 light years away. In between, in space, we do not have any other star, save Barnard’s star, Wolf 359 and Lalande’ s star, which are closer to Sirius, from where the real Heavens can be deemed to commence. Doesnt this story explain what Trisanku or Alpha Centaurus is ?

The Ursa Major Cycle, Sapta Rishie Yuga


The constellation of Ursa Major, known as the Big Dipper, or the Big Bear and known as the Seven Rishies in Indian Astronomy. Atri, Angiras, Mareechi, Pulastya, Pulaha, Kritu, Vasishta.


In his ‘ Asiatic Researches”, Prof Drayson says that ‘ the Hindus thought proper to connect their Mythology with an astronomical period of a strange nature. It is that of the Seven Rishies, moving along the Zodiac in a retrograde motion of 100 years in a constellation. As the Ecliptic is tenanted by 27 constellations, they take 2700 years to make a circuit of the Zodiac. This 2700 years is known as an Ursa Major Cycle or Sapta Rishi Yuga.

The first astronomical calender was erected by the Hindu Emperor, Vaivaswata Manu ( circa 8736 BCE ). It was based on the Ursa Major Cycle or Sapta Rishi Yuga.
