First, it was Jaysuria and Kaluwitharana who brought innovations in White Ball cricket, viz – hitting the 10 overs of the Power Play, thus scoring > 100 runs in the first 10 overs.

Then the Australians and the South Africans revolutionised White Ball cricket with innovations in fielding

The Gambhirian Method

Previously all teams followed these principles.

But India had different Ideas. Gambhir and Surya brought the method of smashing all overs. The Ultra Aggressive Ap;proach, was first tried with tremendous success and India scored a mammoth 283-1 against SA.

Attack all, from the first ball itself. in 20 overs, Ind 283/1, Abhishek out for 47, India 73-1 and then an unbroken 210 partnership by two centurions, Samson and Tillak Varma.

Smriti copied this a;pproach and India scored 370/5. It was furthur improvised and India smashed 435/5 . Now all teams are copying this method.

One client consulted me from Bangalore. His question was this ” My son is playing well, in County Cricket in Eng. Will he get in the Karnataka team?”. He said lots of ugly things are going on in selection and if his state is like that, then what about India ?

Talking from here, we do not know the actual state, but t something fishy seems to be going on. A triple centuiron, with average of 389 is ignored. Another, who smashed 3 centuries in a calendar year and 5 sixes in an over is dropped. Giving the impression that mediocre players are retained , at the expense of the outstanding.

We have a suggestion.

The present World Cup, is it the World Cup of nations ?

West Indies is a conglomeration of Nations, made up of ten nations !

Is Great Britain playing ? We have separate teams of Ireland, Scotland and England. Arent they the states of UK or Great Britain ?

We have disparities here. So the present World Cup is not exactly the World Cup of Nations.

So we propose a World Cup of Provinces. Ire, Sco and Eng are three teams of G B.

Take 4 teams from each nation. Add Wales to Sco, Ire, Eng and we have 4 teams of the UK. Karnataka, VIdharbha, TN and Mumbai from India. ( The best 4, based on domestic cricket ). Punjab, SIn,d NWFP and Baluchuistan from Pak. WI breaking into 4 national teams and so we have around 40 odd teams.

Prepare a World Cup for that.

So Karun and Samson can play for Kerala, Shreyas and Pant for their states. So that these complaints will not be there . Kerala is sidelined, it is the Bombay lobby which selects et al.

The IPL has thrown up an abundance of talent, with the result Ind can field 3 world class teams simultaneously. Only 11 can play, according to the present WC. 4 teams from one nation will solve the problem. All 40 can play.

India has more than 40 stadiums and they have to be busy. A bigger stadium than Ahd is coming up at Coimbatore.

There wont be less viewers. A Vidharbha vs Victoria final will have viewers, with Indians and Australians supporting their respective states !

Then Rishabh Pant, Samson, Ishant Kishan and Jurell can play simultaneously. Now only one of the wicket keepers can play..

Karun Nair and Shreyas Iyer also. Now there is only one slot !

There will be no complaints then from the 2 billion odd cricketing fraternity !

NB – Another casualty was Abhimanyu Parameswaran. A huge scorer in Ranji, he was not given a chance in Tests. Whereas Jurrel and Padikkal were given chances. Argument was that he had failed in Australia. All have failed Down Under except for Jaiswal and Nitesh. We feel that he should have been one Test chance, at least ! Suppose he had hit a hundred in AUS. The greats, Bradman, Tendulkar, Gavaskar had gone for ducks. In the last innings, Bradman was clean bowled by Hollis for a duck !

Precessional Cycle            (72*360)                    =            25920 years ( as the Zodiac is 360 degrees )
Equinoctial Cycle              (2000*2160)             =              43,20000 years
Cosmological Cycle          ( 2 million * 2160 ) =              4.32 billion years

One Cycle of Brahma      = 100 Brahma years

One Day of Brahma         = 4.32 billion years

Hence one Super Cosmological Cycle or 

Maha Manvantara = 4.32*2*365.25*100 = 311.04 trillion years
