It<br \/>\nis a 148 cr project. It will block the waters from Bharatapuzha from flowing<br \/>\ninto the sea. 13 kms long and 869 hectares will be directly benefited. The<br \/>\ntransporters save 30 kms. We need more infra projects like these, as Agri India<br \/>\ndo not have sufficient water ! Water scarcity has been reported in Cherpu, where<br \/>\nwomen stand in queue for hours to get a bucket of water ! It will save 15 mm<br \/>\ncubics of water in the first phase and 25 mm cubics in the second phase. <\/p>\n<p>The Temple on the banks of Nila, at Chamravattom. Nearly 10000 hectares<br \/>\ncan be irrigated by the Regulator Bridge. Inauguration by the CM at 0400<br \/>\nPM.<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<br \/>\nThe great mathematical genius, Aryabhata was born on the banks of Nila.<br \/>\nAnother Jain Siddha practised the 64 liberal arts at this place. Astronomy,<br \/>\nAstrology, Music etc was practised on the banks of this river. This river is the<br \/>\nGanges of the Keralites. It is said that Kerala culture came from Nila !<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nFor the passengers travelling from Ekm to Calicut, there is a gain of 40 kms. Previously the road was 225 kms and now travel is reduced to 185 kms. 20 rupees gain monetarily.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nTen multi crore Tourism projects have been planned on the banks of the Nila.
