Birth during day time,
In the Northern Solstice, 
During the Bright Fortnight
Is Solar or Devayana called

Shan Masa Uttarayanam
Tatra Prayatha Gachanti
Brahma Brahma VIdo Janah !

 Birth during night time,
In the Southern Solstice, 
During the Dark Fortnight
Is Lunar or Pitruyana called

Dhoomo Ratri Thada Krishna
Shanmasa Dakshinayanam
Tatra Chandramasam Jyothih
Yogi Prapya Nivarthate

Pitruyana is subject to recurrence
Devayana is not !
Devayana is the Path of the Yogins,
