\nScience of Definition, Nirukta Sastra,
\nWas well developed by Yaska.
\nIt was started to define Vedic concepts,
\nAnd to refute the Non-Vedic.<\/p>\n

{ Vasti tasya Niruktam tu
\nVeda Nirvachanam Sphutam )<\/p>\n

What is the Definition of Definition?
\nIt is Genus et differentia.
\n” Man is a political animal”
\nSatisfies the condition stated.<\/p>\n

( animal is the genus & political , differentia )<\/p>\n

But Brahman, the Summum Genus, is Indefinable,
\nAs it has no proximate genus !
\nHow can the One, which became an innumerable multitude,
\nSastisfy the condition of genus et differentia?<\/p>\n

Best definition  of Absolute Brahman,
\nWas given by the poet, Aurobindo.
\nIt was defined as the Sevenfold Chord of Being,
\nWith lowest term as Matter and highest, pure Being !<\/p>\n

Previous best was Being-Knowledge-Bliss,
\nThe Upanishadic Sat Chit  Anandam Brahma,
\nWhich was extended, incorporating four more,
\nLife, Mind, Matter and Supermind.<\/p>\n

Sages spoke of It negatively, Neti, Neti,
\nSaid It is not this, It is not that.
\nThey also spoke of It positively, Iti, Iti,
\nThey said It is this, It is that, It is all !<\/p>\n

Brahman, the Absolute, is Life, is Mind,is Matter,
\nIs Supermind, is Cosmic Delight, is Sat Chit Ananda.
\nBut then, Absolute Brahman cannot be defined,
