\nOrigin of  Poetry<\/p>\n

Pegasus, the winged horse of Grecian Mythology,
\nTapped Mount Helicon with his hoof,
\nAnd from that exact spot arose,
\nThe Fountain of Poesy, the Hippocrene !<\/p>\n

Shelley opined that Francis Bacon,
\nThe Father of English Prose,
\nWas a Poet inimitable,
\nBecause his prose appeared to be poetic !<\/p>\n

Poetry evolved from Sorrow
\nFrom Shoka arose Shloka.
\nThe First Poet was pained,
\nWhen a bird was struck by an arrow.<\/p>\n

Never Kill, Ma Nishada,he cried out,
\nFor, it is against Law of Conscience.
\nIn the Orient, he is the First Poet,
\nAnd his poem, Ramayana, First Poem.<\/p>\n

Milton was blind and suffered a lot,
\nOut of his sufferings, came the Paradise Lost.
\nDante was a mendicant, with a love tragedy,
\nAnd out of his strife, came the Divine Comedy.<\/p>\n

Poontanam’s son died early,
\nOut of his sorrow came the Njanapana.
\nMelpathur was afflicted by Arthritis,
\nOut of his frustrations, arose the Narayaneeyam.<\/p>\n

That is why Adversity has been defined as divine,
\nAnd Melancholy as Sage and Holy !
\nSpiritual development accelerates under Adversity,
\nWhose positive aspect is unknown to Prosperity !<\/p>\n
