{"id":108,"date":"2023-08-26T01:10:14","date_gmt":"2023-08-26T01:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eastrovedica.com\/wordpress\/?p=108"},"modified":"2023-08-26T01:10:14","modified_gmt":"2023-08-26T01:10:14","slug":"why-poetry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eastrovedica.com\/wordpress\/?p=108","title":{"rendered":"Why Poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">\n                              \r\n                     \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPoets are like musical singers,\r\nWho have been sent by the Divine,\r\nTo influence the hearts of men,\r\nAnd turn them back to Self !\r\n \r\nRomans used to call poets, vates,\r\nMeaning a prophet, a diviner !\r\nSuch a celestial title did the noble bestow,\r\nUpon this heart ravishing Gnosis !\r\n \r\nIn the Orient, they are Kranta Darshis,\r\nWho have glimpsed Celestial Diameter,\r\nPeople who are prescient, intuitive,\r\nWho know Time Eternal !\r\n \r\nWhat is their Logic?\r\n \r\nLife, a movement of Self in Time,\r\nHas only a symbolic value.\r\nIt is temporal and ephemeral,\r\nAnd necessary as a Becoming.\r\n \r\nAnd all Becomings have Being,\r\nAs their Goal &amp; Fulfillment,\r\nAnd Lord is the only Being,\r\nAverrs Overmind Poetry !\r\n \r\nPoetry &amp; Philosophy\r\n \r\nPoetry should initiate us,\r\nTo Philosophy, averred Plutarch.\r\nBoth may be different in the Occident,\r\nBut, in the Orient, they are one.\r\n \r\n \r\nNo Philosopher exists,\r\nWho is not a Poet !\r\nWithout transcendental experience,\r\nNone can write Poetry !\r\n \r\n \r\nPoet has global vision,\r\nAs he is proximate to Self !\r\nHe knows the Jyoti Sastra Kranta,\r\nKavihi Kranta Darshi !\r\n \r\nUltimate victory is his,\r\nJayanti Te Sukrutino\r\nWho has attained Kaivalya,\r\nRasa Siddha Kaveeswara !\r\n \r\nAs their fame body\r\nKnoweth no change,\r\nRemarks Bhartri Hari,\r\nWho attained fame !\r\n \r\nPoetry &amp; Music\r\n \r\nInextricably linked to Poetry,\r\nIs grand science of Musicology !\r\nDance, music instrumental and Lyrics,\r\nConstitute Musicology !\r\n \r\nLyrics derives from Lyre,\r\nThat instrument physical,\r\nLyrics is the Poetry of Music,\r\nIndeed, the Heart of Music !\r\n \r\nThe Invocation\r\n \r\nOccidentals invoke the Muses,\r\nCalliope, Muse of Epic Poetry,\r\nErato, Muse of Love &amp; Lyrics\r\nAnd  many others.\r\n \r\nParadise Lost begins with\r\n\"Sing, Heavenly Muse, how on the top\"\r\nIndian Poets begins with,\r\nAn invocation to Wisdom Deity\"\r\n \r\nSarigama padanikal, Devi Nin,\r\nSangeeta Kala Dhamankal,\r\nEnikku tharoo, manassil oru\r\nApoorva Ragamay parannu varoo..\r\n \r\nOctaves Seven are Thine,\r\nThe veins of Art Musical,\r\nGive them to me, O Deity,\r\nCome to me as a rare Raaga '<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Poets are like musical singers, Who have been sent by the Divine, To influence the hearts of men, And turn them back to Self !
