Make Money with Your Blog | ||
Blogging for cash is a simple concept,
but a lot of people seem to be blogging for free. There’s no
point in driving traffic to your blog without having some way
to profit from all of that traffic. Once you’ve taken the
time to research keywords, plan your blog posts and set up
your blog, the next step is to add moneymaking elements to
your blog.
There are a few basic ways to profit from a blog, or any website for that matter. Banner ads are displayed on the borders of a web page. Each time your page is viewed with the banner ad, you are paid. Normally a banner ad program is paid out at a certain rate per 1000 visitors. Although banner ads are popular or many types of website, there are other more effective means of monitizing your blog. The following technique normally pays better rates than banner ads, and is more worth your time.
Pay-per-click ads are a more effective means of gaining income
from a blog. You get paid each time a visitor clicks on an ad
displayed on your page. Google Adsense is the most popular
pay-per-click ad provider. Google has the largest inventory of
ads and also pay the most per click. Additionally, Adsense ads
are targeted toward the content that appears on the website.
For example, if your blog focuses on small business software,
the Adsense ads will be for small business software. The
content of the blog determines the ads that appear. This has a
major advantage. Because the ads are related to what you
reader is reading about, they are more likely to click on the
ads, which means that the ads can be very profitable for you.
Signing up with Google Adsense is relatively simple. Since
Google took over Blogger.com, they have started to accept
accounts from blog owners rather quickly. Plus, if you use
Blogger, inserting Google Adsense is extremely simple. It is
recommended that you only apply for Adsense after you have at
least 500 words posted on your Blog.
Keep in mind that once you’ve placed the Adsense ads into
your blog it will take about 48 hours until the relevant ads
appear. After this period of time, if you notice that the ads
that are appearing are not relevant to your content you’ll
need to do some keyword optimization. Look at your blog posts
and titles through the eyes of a search engine spider. Are you
using your keywords effectively? How many times do you main
keywords appear? Try adding your main keywords at least once
per paragraph and make sure to use them in the title of your
blog posts as well. This will help increase the relevancy of
your ads, which will lead to more clicks and more profits for
you.
